Kevin McNeely, the founder of McNeely Building Group, is heavily involved in the building science and home performance industries. In addition providing code compliance and consulting services and attending industry conferences, he is an active member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and other local industry organizations.
U.S. Green Building Council
Kevin is an active member of the USGBC, which is committed to building greener buildings and communities worldwide through the LEED program. He was an elected member of the General Circle (Steering Committee) from 2010 to 2014 and has served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Detroit chapter of USGBC since 2015. He has also been the Chair of the LEED for Homes Committee since 2012.
Detroit Climate Action Collaborative
The Detroit Climate Action Collaborative (DCAC) is a grass-roots effort aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combatting the impacts of climate change in Detroit. From 2015 to 2017, Kevin served as the Chair of the Homes & Neighborhoods Work Group under the DCAC.
Focus: HOPE
The HOPE Village Initiative of Focus: HOPE aims to improve the lives of children and adults in Detroit, MI. Kevin serves as a RESNET HERS rater and LEED for Homes rater with this special initiative.

In 2018, Kevin was nominated for the Governor’s Energy Excellence Award, which honors energy leaders in the state of Michigan for their commitment to responsible energy consumption.
